Here's a product shot.


This is a close up of the DTG (direct to garment printing) which is pretty cool since it portrays the look of a marker drawing on a clothing. The process used is digitally printing which is like the traditional printing but you use a shirt instead of a paper to print something.


At the order form, you get an option of adding a custom made bag and my own personal business card.

Well, to be honest, I really like it that way, but since a lot of them won't stop requesting for a colored version and we all know, coloring my doodles is not an easy task, I decided to make a contest / collaborative artwork for it so that everyone can have their own version/s of how my doodles should look like, colored. And remember, the sole purpose of this contest is to HAVE FUN . Now then, without further ado, let's start this competition shall we?

---- I'll be uploading a set of doodle linearts online so that everybody can download it. There are no rules on how you're going to put color on it. You can print it, color it with crayons, or even sew it on a cloth, take a picture of it and upload it if that's your way of doing the job but just be sure that the details of the original doodle are still intact. I repeat, you are free to use whatever style to color it, digital or traditional. Also, submit as many versions/artworks as you want.

Send the JPEG/BITMAP/PNG file of your finished artwork/s to my email account lei.melendres@yahoo.com and wait for yours to be posted online.




---- The lineart of this doodle was converted from the plain black to dark red, the background was filled with gray and a little gaussian blur to show a glowy-color effect was added so that it would look more appealing. (but that's just me) you're welcome to add as much effect as your heart desires.



---- You may revector the whole lineart of the original doodle sent to you but PLEASE, keep the changes of the lineart at minimal. This is very important. Failure to do so may lead to loss of points or even the disqualification of your artwork. X(



---- I'm jumping to prizes right away so that I won't waste any of your time reading the whole topic if you are not interested. I'm keeping this contest as artistic as possible wherein people won't look forward to the money to be won but instead, acknowledgement of their works, a chance to be discovered by other artists, and yes guys, even bragging rights (HAHA!!!!). This contest was made for me to share my works (a lot of people have been asking for something like this for the longest time) and to give chance to other artists to have their names on the spotlight also.

Three guest artists will be invited to judge every 3 batches. I have invited very talented and well,, AWESOME artists to be part of the Judging. These are some of the respectable people who are the shining stars in the world of art this year. If you are updated with what's happening, I know you know who these people are.

After the deadline of each batch, we will have our picks and the artwork that gets the top two most picks wins!

But first,, some FAQS. ^_^

Where do you start when you doodle?
well, that actually depends, if there's a huge word (i call it titles) in the doodle, i start off with that but i don't draw the letters completely, i draw the outlines of the letters in broken lines so i could put a monster/object there later on, that is how i make the overlapping look on my doodles.

here's another trick, those monsters/objects w/o an overlapping object on top of it is usually where i started the doodle.

How much time does it take for me to finish a doodle??
again, it depends, but just to give you an idea,, i could have finished any doodle in my gallery in one whole day without rests except for "CAS WEEK" doodle since it's a large scale doodle and "COMMISSIONED WORK: AWESOME" doodle cause the details i put in that doodle were so intense.

What type of pen do you use?
Since it's a doodle, I use whatever pen available but my faves would be a double head Sharpie and the Unipins..

BUT the truth is, you should not be depending on the pen you use, what's important is the concept, your patience and creativity..

What's my secret and what's my inspiration?
My inspiration would be great artists around the world, young and old. but i'm inspired by those i know personally and those who started small. I love looking at other people's artworks, i get ideas there and it pushes me to become better.

My secret would be, well, it's not really a secret, just be inspired, have LOTS of patience, be original, do something new, learn from the right people, aim for something really high and be yourself.



                  DOODLES!!!!                



Yes! I am now opening my doodle business since a lot of people are ordering for commissioned doodles.

Pricing would depend on what pen/marker to be used.

*Pen = more details.

*Marker = more details but only in a wide space, maybe a small or medium size wall.

*Paint = would be for really large walls.


Sizes and Prices
~No actually, prices depends on the content also so we'll have to talk about what you want. but expect that pens would cost a lot more expensive than marker based doodle.

~colored works will be an additional but be prepared, coloring your work might mean the original price would be multiplied twice, trice or even 4 times.

Clients far away from where I live will have the option of having there order in HD softcopy or mail. Although for small doodles, I would prefer softcopy. I haven't tried delivering a large scale doodle across the seas yet and personally, i don't trust it since it might get crumpled or whatever, but hey, what do I know, i haven't tried it remember?

As you can see, I'm capable of a whole bunch of things but my interests are into designing, doodling, vectors, advertisements and a little bit of flash animations.

As for job experience,,,
I've been a freelancer for 2 years now and have accomplished many projects over the years. I have a job as a character designer in one company and a tshirt designer on a small-time business group but I still have lots of free time and I really want to use those time on doing something creative and yeah, earning money to buy things I need to widen my knowledge on the art.
